Online Show Champion Normannsson Baldr – Shearling Ram – East Ayrshire

For Sale is my shearling ram Baldr. I´m only selling him due to having too many related ewes and black sheep, otherwise I´d keep him.

He was Overall Champion in the ISBOBI Online show 2024 and more photos can be found here – https://isbobi.co.uk/online-show-2024/  At the Stranraer showBaldr also placed 2nd in AOB ram and was 1st in the Best Group, while his father, Tudwal was also 2nd in the 2023 ISBOBI online show.

• Weight on 1st July 67kg
• Lambing Ease 1
• Lamb Vigour 1
• Suckling Ability 1
• Birthweight 3.6kg
• Colour – Black with recessive moorit
• Spotted
• Pattern – I think grey and potentially mouflon (can´t tell due to spotting) Sire carried Mouflon and grey, and Mum carried grey.
• He is Heptavacced and Footvaxed (vet advice – no history of footrot on our farm, just exceptionally boggy ground) Footvax is due in October if you wish to carry on with it.
• Regularly Fec tested. He can be wormed and fluked upon leaving, but would strongly advise you to get a dose of Zolvix for best practice.

Baldr is unproven as I wanted to see how they developed before deciding on using him, however, both my commercial neighbours and I have no reason why he won´t perform. He´s been trying to mount ewes when prepping for shows.

His Father´s statistics were as follows.
2023 – 13 lambs from 7 ewes – 185% lambing ratio
2024, – 22 lambs from 12 ewes – 183.3% lambing ratio

As for his mum Old Hills Whitespecs, her lambing stats were as follows while she was with us.

• 2022 – Twins both with Lambing Ease 1, Lamb Vigour 1, and Suckling Ability 1. Lamb weights 3.75kg and 3,35kg
• 2023 –  Twins both with Lambing Ease 1, Lamb Vigour 1, and Suckling Ability 1.

He is bucket-trained, kept behind electric fencing and travels well.
